Primary System Design Manager

Responsible for connections to and the reinforcement of the primary network (33kV up to 132kV) for all of WPD's four licence areas. Total annual capital budget of approximately £30m. Managing four teams covering South West, South Wales, West Midlands and East Midlands, with a total team size of 60 people. Represented WPD at various customer forums and national working groups, including Product Lead on various Open Networks projects. Significantly responsibility in the development of the load related spend part of the ED2 business plan submission. Oversight of the roll out of ANM within WPD. Helping to embed DSO practices into business as usual. Interaction with NGET and NGESO, including navigating the implications of their legal separation on working practices.

Primary System Design Team Manager South West

Responsible for connections to and the reinforcement of the primary network (33kV up to 132kV) for WPD's South West area. Total team size of 15. Significant interaction with the Hinkley Point connection project and the impact on WPD's network. Oversight of the design of some of the first large scale battery connections to the South West network.

Designing the connections of generation and demand connections from 33kV to 132kV in the South West network. Responsible for the design of hundreds of MW of generation now connected to the network.
