Executive Vice President ► Risk & Conduct | Compliance | Integration | Data Quality | SILOS | Board
-
2015 - Apr 2021
As a customer-owned bank and mortgage provider, Nykredit has always focused on giving back. As an executive leader – essentially the Chief Risk Officer – with more than a decade of experience at Nykyredit, I ensure that the internal governance framework not only complies with regulatory requirements, but also enables the bank to achieve is primary mission: to do more for our customers and for society.♦ INTEGRATIONI assumed leadership of the risk department in 2015 and then was given the responsibility for the compliance department in 2019. I aligned the efforts across these two functions – with 55 managers and employees – to provide a comprehensive overview of risk and capital conditions for the Group’s board, the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority, and other external stakeholders. I also optimized processes and introduced more rigor to the department’s daily work efforts.♦ OVERCOMING SILOSOrganizations are often confronted with the need to compile and report critical data from across the enterprise. I led a change initiative to standardize the type of data gathered and the format in which it was communicated to the Board of Directors to overcome a previously fragmented process. The result was a unified framework, yet easily accessible system, to report risk and compliance.♦ DATA QUALITYAccurate data is essential to governance. I have led a number of projects to establish a new model committee, test and validate models, produce more robust data, research and implement a Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) system, streamline quarterly reporting, and develop new market risk models (VaR).♦ COMMUNICATION & LEADERSHIPI have served on the Group Risk Committee, chaired the Model Committee and Property Price Committee, and regularly interface with the Board of Directors and Executive Board. Vice President | FVP ► Operations & IT | Business Intelligence | Client Services | Strategic Plannin
-
2012 - 2015
Having wrapped up my assignment in Customer Processes – and solidifying my business acumen – I used my expertise in process optimization to assess the performance of current products and to develop new products, including a viable model as the market moved toward negative interest rates.♦ STRATEGIC PLANNINGIn addition to preparing and implementing the model for negative interest rates, I also drove efforts to complete detailed analysis and implementation roadmaps for 3 price changes initiatives, working to minimize any negative impact on our 600,000 customers.♦ PRODUCT PLANNING & IMPLEMENTATIONAn important focus of my work was ensuring that our product offerings were market-oriented and competitive. Other focus areas included implementing second-level support for customer advisors and developing an agile mortgage platform.♦ CHANGE MANAGEMENTAs the company restructured, I served as a resource to help middle managers and employees through the transformation. FVP ► Customer Processes | Risk Secretariat | Capital & Solvency | Integration | Policy Development
-
2003 - 2012
The earlier chapters of my career with Nykredit focused on risk analysis and management, but I also had the opportunity to work for two years on projects and initiatives that more directly touched our key stakeholders, the customers.♦ CUSTOMER PROCESSESLeading a 12-member team, I oversaw the entire range of processes and systems for private and SME customers. Examining processes from one end to the other, I asked hard questions about applicability, resource utilization, and customer engagement.♦ INTEGRATIONFollowing the acquisition of a smaller bank, I developed and implemented to strategic plan to integrate the processes of the two organizations, looking closely at each functional area to ensure that processes going forward would meet a wide range of client needs and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.♦ RISK MANAGEMENTWith the introduction of Base II, I developed advanced credit models, helped established the framework for operational risk management, and assessed new capital adequacy rues. Later, I coordinated the process to negotiate the advanced credit models with the Danish Financial Supervisory Authority. In my final role leading the Capital & Solvency department, I defined the new capital policy, formulated reports to communicate risk and capital conditions, and prepared risk maps and assessments.
