For my graduation assignment I did research on the use of a waste stream coming from the cultivation of plants. It is known that these plants consist of an essential oil, also known as wintergreen oil. The aim of this project was to find a useful application for this oil with a business case. As an intern I worked at Sodexo Facility Services at the consultancy Sustainability department for 22 weeks. A project was assigned to me for the KLM Royal Dutch Airline. I did research to find useful applications for the wastewater, coming from KLM Waste Water Treatment Plant. During my investigation I found out that direct use is possible by introducing an additional purification step. As a result, the quality of the wastewater will increase. By the positive nature of this research, there is a business case launched by Sodexo Facility Services for KLM Royal Dutch Airline. Reference: on request.
