In the years that followed, I published a series of three peer-reviewed articles, acquainted myself with actor-network theory (ANT), deepened my skills on discourse analysis, and drafted and presented numerous working papers at conferences in the US and Europe. I would further cover semestrial lecture series on theory and methodology in political science, in support of the final thesis of the ULB’s master students. My biggest academic achievement came, perhaps, when I convened an international conference at ULB, hosting several MEPs next to the leading international scholars in the field of environmentalism in Eastern Europe. Besides a range of operational and practical tasks, I monitored and advised her on (aspiring) member parties. I picked up on a skill set ranging from managing politically delicate processes and strategic communication, to a smooth rolling out of political events.
