Penny is a first-class leader and manager. I worked with Penny as her GHRBP in her role as Head of Enabling Services through a period of significant business change: organisation redesign; major outsourcing; down-sizing etc. In addition to her not inconsiderable skills as a leader and manager, Penny is an outstanding colleague: supportive, challenging, when necessary, and never lacking in imagination or humour. Her real humanity and feeling for others is balanced by strong strategic thinking and pragmatic action. She is a highly effective coach and is sensitive to the cultural diiferences that exist when managing people and business relationships across countries and continents. Highly adaptable and very quick to learn, Penny would be an asset to any organisation in any capacity as a senior leader. I would love to work with her again one day.

Penny has been an essential part of my development in the Business Improvement Capability of AstraZeneca. As my direct line manager, Penny has provided me with excellent coaching and mentoring and gave me the space needed to grow and develop in order to deliver to the business real benefits through projects. During the time I have worked with Penny, she has built a team of Green Belt and Black Belt to support one crucial part of the organisation, which at the time I left the company, had delivered multiple projects from operational to strategic level. The team she build was recognised as highly efficient and increasing number of requests for support coming from the business was a clear example of the success and value of the team. On top of excellent leadership skills, Penny is also a very experience statistician and Master Black Belt well appreciated by the entire AstraZeneca community. Penny is very accessible and I would recommend her for strategic and leadership positions.
