▪ Identified a unique business opportunity which could lead to an annual revenue of $3.6 million from my study of the challenges facing the current energy grid and its connections to the building energy demands.▪ Built Machine Learning pipelines to predict the instantaneous thermal loads of various types of residential and commercial buildings with an accuracy around 10% to 20%.▪ Explored the application of Machine Learning and MPC in the field of modern energy grid and HVAC systems to improve system resilience, operating costs, and carbon footprints.▪ Probed pathways for establishing a high dimensional matching between opaque data-driven models and human-interpretable analytical models to improve model interpretability.▪ Launched medium to large scale co-simulations with Python and simulation engines to study the community level energy demand profiles and the demand flexibility potentials.▪ Investigated the characteristics and benefits of energy storage systems in a wide variety of forms including electric battery storage and thermal storage (chilled water or ice) to support the building electrification.▪ Developed specialized models in the EnergyPlus platforms with reference to the ASHRAE/AHRI/IECC standards to evaluate the cost & emission benefits of diverse types of HVAC systems and control strategies.
