      Golden Eagle Group is a multimillion-dollar company with seven divisions based on 5,500 acres owned by the Aquilini Investment Group. Derek joined the company in 2003 and was promoted to General Manager of Golden Eagle Trees after only three months. Thanks to Derek’s sustained efforts and unparalleled management skills, sales increased by 350% in the first full year of his leadership, making the division profitable for the first time in five years. Derek was additionally promoted to general manager for Golden Eagle Estates, where he managed over twenty houses and farms under numerous leases. Eventually, Derek worked his way up to become the Vice President of the Golden Eagle Group in addition to joining the Aquilini construction division. Among other accomplishments, Derek managed the development of a thousand acres of raw land into blueberry fields and the construction of a 130,000 square foot processing plant. He also contributed to overseeing and managing the construction of the $180 million real-estate development at King Edward Village in Vancouver. During his five years at Golden Eagle Group, Derek made his mark as an exceptionally resourceful and dynamic leader.

      Derek is a born entrepreneur who started his first business when he was 10. In 1998, things got more serious when he got the idea to start his own clothing line called CROPCRCL. He was living with his parents at the time so he started running the business right out of his bedroom. Although Derek still had a lot to prove, he managed to convince small clothing stores in Vancouver to carry the collection. Derek persevered and by the time his second season collection came out, CROPCRCL clothing was being sold in all major cities in British Columbia and Alberta. But he was only getting started. Derek decided to try for the big leagues and packed all of his samples into an RV to drive down to Las Vegas for the “Magic Show.” Four months later, he had traveled across Canada and the US and managed to get his brand into 128 retail stores in North America. CROPCRL grew into a major brand of sport and street wear for men and women, with a collection of 80 to 100 articles coming out each season. After selling the 2003 season, CROPCRCL was purchased by one of its major buyers in the US who turned the company into their store brand. Derek wasn’t even 25 years old.
