      General Job Description  Serving as a primary homeroom teacher, in collaboration with a Teacher Assistant  Teaching English, Mathematics and Science.  Creating a classroom environment that reflects and the school values  Working collaboratively with others on the grade team and larger school staff to promote the general well-being of the grade level and the school community. Essential Functions as Homeroom Teacher • Create and maintain an emotionally safe, warm, friendly and responsive classroom based on the values of the SIS; plan daily homeroom activities for one section of the grade or the grade level as a whole. • Plan, develop and implement organised learning opportunities for students following the CIE curriculum which reflect the needs of the individual students. • Prepare curriculum materials, including course outlines and other instructional materials. • Work with curriculum coordinators, division head and grade team members to monitor the curriculum and revise as appropriate. • Create an efficient environment that motivates, celebrates and reflects the students’ work adequately. • Collaborate with other members of the grade team to maximise the benefits of the programme. • Prepare and provide appropriate assessment tools, evaluate student progress on a regular basis and provide feedback to students and parents about individual student’s progress. • Maintain regular communication with parents of homeroom students on all classroom activities and any issues that come up with their particular children; prepare monthly newsletters for parents in collaboration with the TA. • Plan and attend various field trips in conjunction with the other grade teacher or subject teacher. • Attend regular grade team meetings to assess the needs and growth of all of the grade students and meet regularly with the associate teachers and the other grade teacher.
