Leadership, oversight, and management of areas related to overall academic development, application of program outcomes, retention, and classroom policies and staffing needs. Conduct faculty hiring and training, performance evaluations, syllabi review, in-service meetings and presentations, program review and new program feasibility studies, advisory board planning, and ongoing assessment efforts. Oversight of entire programming of all Social & Behavior Science Programs. Adherence, reports, and training involving legislative and accreditation guidelines such as finance and tuition structures, grant funding, gainful employment, programmatic thresholds and outcomes. Engage in dialogue with legislators and government representatives regarding proposed legislation and execution of the institutional mission. Advisory board with Chief of Police, Sheriff's Office, Department of Public Safety, DOC Wardens, and others. Collaboration with Homeland Security and local police department for annual campus security and community events. Developed Iowa Board of Certification alliance with Kaplan University. Regional and Kaplan-wide Campus Curriculum Coordinator for Criminal Justice Programs. Consultant on School of Behavioral Science background checks for all KU ground campuses. Classroom instruction in various deliver modalities since 2005. Developed security protocol and training and implementation of security officers.

ReEntry Coordinator and Correctional Counselor

Served on a statewide reentry team which focused on creating, developing, and implementing specialized reentry preparation and transition planning strategies. Worked to facilitate the successful return of correctional offenders from the institutional setting to community supervision. Assisted in the development of policy and procedures which directed the state-wide reentry initiative and the development of the reentry case plan manual. Developed and monitored performance data relative to offender reentry and reported progress to supervisor. Maintained ICIW data and statistical records on release status of offenders for statewide outcomes. Additional duties: Quality assurance of correctional staff reentry plans. Oversaw coordinator release preparation for all counselors. Coordinated efforts between ICIW and outside agencies including non-profit agencies, private sector employers, education entities, faith-based groups, and other community organizations. Researched evidence bases programming for initiation in the therapeutic community for reentry curriculums and programming. Developed presentations to present at local and state conferences and non-profit organizations on topics ranging from gender responsivity and resistance to reentry needs of offenders.
