Engineering World Health designs, constructs, and implements health solutions for underprivileged communities. Our mission revolves around the development of devices intended to promote the health and wellbeing of people in resource-constrained settings. I am currently leading an R&D collaboration with the non-profit 2ft Prosthetics on the design of their low-cost prosthetic foot.

I assisted the Integrative Design team in their development of a device to aid pain management for infants in the NICU, working with Dr. Liisa Holsti at B.C. Children's Hospital. The team has modified Dr. Holsti’s existing Calmer design to optimize it for uptake in lower-and-middle-income countries. I made CADs of load bearing supports and had them 3D printed for the device.

The B. Franklin Pugh research lab uses biochemical, genetic, computational, and genomic technologies in yeast and human models to uncover fundamental molecular mechanisms of eukaryotic gene regulation. I have been working with CRISPR/CAS9 to create genetic depletion and location tags for transcription factors in Saccharomyces. The B. Cornell iGEM is Cornell’s synthetic biology project team. We work on a project and compete in the iGEM jamboree competition every year. I worked on PCR amplification, DNA extraction, plating prokaryotic cell culture, Gibson assemblies, Golden Gate assemblies, and writing MATLAB functions. I was also a part of the brainstorming and design process in the creation of new projects. Our most recent project, Micro Murals, involved creating a genetic system that would allow bacteria to produce color. Cornell iGEM is Cornell’s synthetic biology project team. I took visitors' temperatures, handed out masks, and delivered items to and from the main desk and patients’ rooms. If someone needed wheelchair assistance to get around the hospital, I would help them. I volunteered for 4 hours every week on Sundays from September 2020 to March 2021.
