Fdo.- Daniel Berasategui

In my second consecutive stage as a businessman, I launched the company GOALMARKETING, aimed at offering marketing and communication services to companies. In my experience in the world of sport, many of my clients belong to this sector, mainly professional football. I also have many clients who do not and they have wanted to hire my services due to my creativity, my experience in generating income via sponsors and my knowledge of communication 2.0. In the year 2015, they asked me to transfer my experience and knowledge to the students of the master’s degree in sports marketing on how to run the marketing and communications department of a professional football club, with its objectives, strategic planning and road maps. The lectures were given in English. I also provided tutoring for the final project of the master’s degree for a group of female students, aimed at implementing the structure of women’s football in Real Madrid C.F. This year, the FUAM turns 25. My work consists in: 1- starting up all the initiatives. 2- generating income via sponsors and collaborations to start up these initiatives. 3- developing and implementing the communications department of the Foundation, mainly in digital context and with a strategy to generate greater notoriety for the Fundación de la Universidad. A very exciting project. This year, the FUAM turns 25. A new and exciting project in connection with the world of Football, in this case with one of the legends of Spanish football. My work will consist in: 1- comprehensively developing the marketing unit, both in commercial and social marketing. Our objective will consist in recruiting and gaining loyalty from sponsoring companies, and subscribers/followers. 2- coordinating content creation for the different communication channels of the Club, mainly oriented towards websites and social networks. I will carry out this work in the same way for 4 years in Alcorcón. I will create a marketing plan with a very defined strategy and a road map to starting immediately. Show less

For four seasons I was part of the Alcorcón management team, a second-division club, as marketing and communications director. My work as marketing director: 1- improving the image of the company, both in online and offline media. 2- Professionalizing the branding and corporate identity of the club. In this sense, we had to reach many exchange agreements with media and construction companies in general. 3- gaining the loyalty of current sponsors and advertisers 4- recruiting other brands whether local, regional or national, with their corresponding contracts. We had to be very proactive when adding value to the brands, offering them notoriety and business. It was a very commercial task, with very important accomplishments for the company. 5- increasing the fanbase of subscribers and followers of Alcorcón; we develop multiple initiatives aimed at gaining loyalty and recruiting subscribers/followers. And as director of communications: 1- rejuvenating all communications channels of the Club (website, official magazine, social networks), in order to modernize them and bring them closer to the fanbase. The objective was to generate quality content daily, in particular digital content. 2- gaining a higher level of notoriety in the media. My working team was made up of 9 people specialized in journalism, design, photography, sponsorship and sales management. It was a very positive time for learning and for showcasing all of the ideas that were coming to me those four years. The results were very positive, reaching our goals in both areas. Show less

For the second year in a row, I offered a lecture in this important Master’s degree, on the operations of a professional football club from a communications point-of-view, with the corresponding plan, objectives, communications channels, and situations that may arise within the communications department at a club. Likewise, I explained to them the marketing plan and the importance of coordinating the communications and marketing departments. In June 2010, I decided, along with the former CEO of the Fundación Atlético de Madrid, to follow a new path in my life, and become a businessman and entrepreneur. It was a decision that surprised Atlético de Madrid but they understood, it was my time to start my own business project. We became an agency specialized in fundamentally sport-related communications and marketing, as well as in the development of projects linked to corporate social reputation. Our clients hired us for our expertise and knowledge in professional sports. Clients such as MAHOU, REXONA, COCA COLA, FUNDACION REAL MADRID, and WILKINSON trusted us to develop different projects and actions linked to sports. After 3 years, the two partners came to the conclusion that it was the best time for us to go our separate ways, a decision that was made in a very heartfelt and friendly way between the two; we wanted to tackle new challenges. Thus I began my personal and professional project, GOALMARKETING. Show less

n June 2006, the Club’s directors gave me the opportunity to leave the Atlético Féminas (the women’s club), to become part of the Foundation as the development manager.Another new project, another new challenge... in this case it consisted in turning the social image of the Club Atlético de Madrid around. Those were 4 very intense years, with multiple projects and actions together with our male and female players, former players... along with very important public institutions and sponsors, in order to unite the Atlético de Madrid brand with all groups in our society, children, women, immigrants, inmates, the elderly, the disabled...My work consisted in:1- generating ideas to start up projects or initiatives.2- seeing financing in order to fund said products. In a vast majority of cases, we had to seek out external financing in order to develop the projects, therefore a big task of mine was to gain revenue through sponsors or collaboration agreements with companies or public entities. I carried out this task throughout these years.3- carrying out all the international cooperation projects.4- fully producing all of the Foundation's events.5- positioning the Foundation in different media as the benchmark of professional clubs, along with the communications department of the Club. After having spent 2 years carrying out various tasks in marketing and management of international games with the Women’s Athletic Club, Lola Romero, Chairwoman of Atlético de Madrid Féminas, after learning that I had become untied from the Athletic Club, offered to have me join Atlético de Madrid, in order to allow the structure of women’s football in the Club to grow even more.My work will mainly consist in:1- recruiting new sponsoring and collaborating companies.2- gaining loyalty from those who were already there, activating commercial agreements.3- increasing notoriety and visibility of the team in the media4- coordinating all the events and initiatives carried out by the women’s team.As a fundamental milestone for the Club, at the end of the season we managed to move to a higher category and reach the highest division in women's football. When I turned 20, and after spending many years as a supervisor for different summer and Christmas camps, I suggested to BBK a summer football camp for boys and girls, with the added value of English. Up until this time there was no camp like it, and in our first years we had total success in participation and media coverage. Possibly the most important summer camp in all of Biscay. My work consisted in comprehensively developing and managing the CAMPUS BBK DERIO. For the first 7 years, I fully managed the economic part, the hiring of staff, the supplying of providers, contact with the press, training planning, etc. A total of 3000 boys and girls participated during those years. When I went to Madrid, I had to hand over management for it. Show less

In June 2003, the board of directors of the Athletic Club hired me to manage the development of the Bilbao headquarters of the UEFA WOMEN’S CUP. Prior to this qualifying round, we organized a series of friendly international games in different towns of Biscay against Arsenal, F.C. Barcelona, Leeds United.... My work consisted in fully developing them. In the subsequent months, I collaborated in managing recruitment and gaining loyalty from the sponsors for the Women's Athletic Club. In June 2004, the Athletic Club once again became champions of the league, and we again played the UEFA WOMEN'S CUP, passing the first round in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), and playing the second round in Stockholm (Sweden), where we didn't manage to beat Arsenal. My work consisted in being in contact with the UEFA, fully managing travel and accommodations, that is to say, everything connected with these UEFA preparations. Months before finishing the 2004-2005 season, many things took place in the Athletic Club with the arrival of the new Chairman and board of directors, with many departures that affected the club’s organization, and thus I decided it was time for me to leave too.
