Development and maintenance of both the legacy application and new PWA. Among my responsibilities were: - Design, develop, code, test, build, deploy, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software using JVM technologies. - Work with infrastructure leads and support staff to implement any required infrastructure needed to support TIGNUM's recommended technologies. - Assist other engineers in getting up and running quickly. - Working closely with engineers to understand software requirements. - Analyze requirements, and translate them to high-level design. - Participate in architectural discussions with other team members. Some impacts that my work had on the organization: - Along with my team, we reduced the infrastructure cost from 10k to a few hundred by shutting down the legacy system in AWS and migrating from AWS to the Heroku where my major contribution was migrating the relevant data from the legacy to the new PWA along with enabling the access to legacy databases in the new cloud provider. Development and maintain the in-house Computer-Assisted Translation(CAT) tool. ● Together with my team, we managed to take the application usage from 2% to 25% by delivering new features desired by the users, reducing the number of bugs and improving performance. ● Designed the integration of the Tool with a Translation Quality Assurance Provider in order to improve upon the acceptance of the application. ● Refactored the application’s core to provide a better developer experience and increase maintainability and as a result, impact the final user because of the reduction of bugs. This was achieved by migrating the code from Javascript to Typescript and restructuring the architecture to have a Clean Architecture. ● Improved the Translation Memory import speed by 6x ● Improved the limits of document's words that CAT tool can handle from 3k to more than 100K. ● Participated actively in data recovery (after unfortunate accidents)by writing the recovery scripts Show less

Development and maintenance of the Invoix, GDE projects focused on managing the finance electronic documents. Part of my contribution to these projects was: ● Improved the Invoix performance of the application by 60%, refactoring the internal query algorithm thus affecting the end-user positively. ● Synchronized the data between the two projects so that the user could choose the application that they liked the most to manage their documents. ● Migrated the old authentication system to use AWS Cognito without affecting the user and giving more security to their data. ● Upgraded the Elasticsearch cluster from version 1.5 to 6.4 avoiding the obsolescence of the application.
