As an information desk volunteer I support hospital navigation and answer visitor questions. I manage patient databases for visitors and deliveries with additional aid to nurses with patient discharge when needed. I often do wheelchair hunts in order to make sure each station has enough for use. Being in a hospital environment there are many safety conduct rules. During my training I learned all the safety procedures for different situations. I close up the desk at the end of my shift in order to protect patient information and desk files. I also train new volunteers at the desk helping them locate the important areas of the hospital. Show less

As a swim instructor I teach kids from ages 2-17 years old. On a weekly bases I teach 20 kids spread between 5 classes. My job focuses on providing each student with personalized improvements to their skill set as there is a large focus on survival skills and techniques to enhance their swimming. I also train new instructors by having them shadow my classes and giving them further tips on how to run each class by the level. Working with kids in water requires responsibility and safety; prior to being an instructor I was trained on different safety techniques in making sure each student is safe in the water. Show less
