This role continues to be highly varied, working on two large UK based consortium projects with other automotive OEMs, Tier 1 supplies and public bodies, as well as working on robust V2X vehicle feature delivery for future programmes.

Working as part of a small, dedicated V2X technology team, researching and designing next generation vehicle communications systems with close links to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Vehicle engineers. This includes work on 802.11p (DSRC), LTE / Cellular and LTE-Direct (3GPP Rel-14) ecosystems for car-to-car and car-to-infrastructure features. This work has also involved working on large consortium/collaboration projects, working directly with other automotive OEMs, universities and public bodies. As part of the JLR Graduate Scheme, rotations around the business allowed a large amount of on the job learning over 2 years with the completion of 4 separate secondments covering approximately one year. Key responsibilities and achievements:- Android Java application development including interfacing with vehicle networks (CAN) and cloud services to demonstrate proof of concept Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Cloud communications.- Knowledge of key V2X standards from ETSI, ISO and IEEE.- Involvement in UK Autodrive, a project between JLR, TMETC and Ford, as well as several other large organisations such as MIRA. Assisted with V2X feature development and testing, for track based demonstrations to UK media including the responsibility of overall control and coordination of the live track demonstrations. - Submission of patent applications.- Significant experience in scheduling and project management including extensive use of Oracle P6 Primavera working on the scheduling team for the construction of JLR’s new manufacturing facility in Slovakia. - Business improvement through development of relational database applications (SQL) replacing outdated power point presentations.- High quality report writing, as well as publishing experience.- Knowledge of principles of product quality, including 8D, fish-bone and six sigma methods for problem solving. This includes large scale data analysis using Microsoft Excel, R and Matlab.
