      Mesenchymal stem cells are reported to exist all over the human body and are a promising tool for regenerative medicine. Our research group focuses on stem cells extracted from body fat (adipose tissue derived stem cells; ASCs) which are ethically uncritical. There is no need to propagate adipose tissue derived stem cells in cell culture since a reasonable number of these cells can be harvested from a little amount of fat.Imagine loosing body fat by liposuction to treat a disease with your own stem cells. This is not just a figment of controlled imagination - it's the future of personal cell based therapy.Using cutting edge technology of molecular biology we investigate the clinical use of ASCs for various diseases at our 'Applied Stem Cell Research Center'.
