    • Team Leader / Python Developer
      • Nov 2021 - Present

As time went on and the project needed more people, I became its team leader. In my daily work, I monitor the software creation process, create visions and solutions, looking for the best ones, while trying to avoid dead ends. Additionally, I participate in recruitment and collaborate with the HR department. Apart from working on the project itself, I take care of the company's resource management system. As a member of the company's board (associated with the Python branch), I participate in decisions related to its further development. Show less

After many years of working with Magento and PHP language, and serving in leadership roles for many years, I decided to try my hand at Python, which I had been learning for over 2 years at home and through additional projects that I built. A few years earlier, I participated in transferring a custom store system to Magento. Now, the same client, who had achieved quite a bit of success in the supplement-vitamin industry, felt that Magento was limiting further development, so the decision was made to move towards building a microservices-based system. Python was chosen as the language due to being one of the most modern and popular programming languages. We didn't want to go towards Java and wanted to choose something less specialized but at the same time much lighter and more elastic. Show less

    • Head of IT
      • May 2019 - Mar 2021

As the Head of IT Department at Advox, I had my first encounter with managing a really large IT team of about 50 people. I participated in recruitment, team building, performance monitoring, feedback discussions, and collaboration with the HR department and company management. In my spare time at work, I built an IT system that could monitor the efficiency of the company team's work, automatically search for issues and bottlenecks at the intersection of clients, employees, and finances. The system enabled analysis of the situation to find better matching of employees to specific projects. Due to being disconnected from technology and projects, as well as indirectly losing touch with colleagues, I decided to resign from my position to return to working closer to projects, people, and technology. After many years of working with Magento, this was my last adventure with this technology, and I decided to end my work with it and direct my focus in a different direction. That is why, after a few months of work, I decided to leave the company. My next job was a very large project. The challenge was to migrate the IT system of a British company from a custom PHP-based solution to Magento. The entire mission took about 3 years and required the transfer of many modules as well as building new ones. The system that I built with my team provided the functionalities of a CRM, ERP, Warehouse Management System, as well as an online store in many languages and B2B/B2C formats. In the initial phase of the project, we maintained synchronization between the two systems, allowing the use of both (old and new) at the same time. As a team leader, I was responsible for managing the project from the technical side. I dealt with team issues and helped team members with their daily work. I also participated in many PHP programming-related recruitments. I tried to implement Agile practices into the team, initially using Kanban and then attempting to transition to Scrum. I also conducted retrospectives and tried to implement ideas suggested by team members. Among other things, we introduced a development day that allowed the team to develop new technology skills. In this way, several people were able to develop their JavaScript skills (by attempting to build a ticketing system in Node.JS). - Developing Magento modules - Customizing and modifying Magento code - Optimizing Magento performance by building a custom three-level cache for Magento Community - Conducting code reviews and ensuring the quality of solutions - Managing a team - Technology stack: PHP (Magento 1), MySQL, HTML, JavaScript (jQuery, Prototype) - Tools used: GIT, Redis Show less
