  The purpose of this research project is (1) to explore behavioral effects of social touch in an empathy to pain paradigm; (2) to investigate (neuro) physiological inter-brain synchronization in an empathy to pain paradigm (3) to examine analgesic effect of touch and its influence on intra-dyad brain synchronization in the context of romantic intimacy.
