      Shadowed Cardiology team at RBH as part of my hospital work experience. During my work experience I was able to observe procedures in the medical theatre: - Coronary angioplasty (inserting a catheter with a balloon on the end into the affected artery) - Cardiac catheterisation (inserting a small tube in or near the heart to take pictures, look at how the heart is working, check the electrical system, or help relieve blockage) - TAVI and Mitral Valve Implantation Visited wards with consultants and sitting on: - Magnetic resonance and CT scanning - Cardiac treadmill stress test (to measure the heart’s performance and limitations) - Echocardiogram (an echo test to investigate the structure and functioning of the heart) Show less
