As a hands-on residential real estate public relations executive, I was recruited by the vice president of public relations to drive the company’s industry thought leadership and real estate agent engagement through public relations strategies and communications. I offered expert advice, insight, direction and mentoring to the public relations team, while providing enthusiastic client service to buyers, sellers and their agents. I improved brand awareness and press coverage by skillfully marketing specialty and luxury properties, new development projects and real estate agents throughout New York City, Long Island, Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey and beyond. Services included developing local, national and international media strategies and public relations plans; crafting press releases and pitches; pitching to real estate, business, lifestyle and tech trade and consumer publications; writing talking points; property visits; owner/client meetings; media training; agent training; survey creation and dissemination; market report insights; and creative story ideas, to name a few. I built and managed relationships with 7,000 real estate agents and expanded media contacts globally while organizing media interviews and events and averted crises by training personnel on media contact. I also served as a liaison to the marketing department. By leveraging my media relationships; offering thought leadership to agents, managers, and clients; and generating ideas through increased agent contact at sales meetings and one-on-one property visits, I triggered a 200% surge in Long Island press coverage and 74% in Westchester in 1 year.
