ANS Group specialise in providing managed compute, storage and network infrastructures that can either be built on-premises or provided as a cloud based solution in their data centres. They are Cisco Gold Partner, VMware Premier Partner, NetApp Star Partner and Microsoft Gold Partner, placing them in a unique position as no other IT organisation in Europe has achieved this level of accreditation. As a lead Cloud Solutions Architect, I was the practice lead on datacentre management and orchestration. Working across both pre and post sales, I specialised in the Microsoft Private Cloud suite for Flexpod environments. My key responsibilities were: - Product & Technical ownership of the multi-tenant 'National Cloud' (http://www.nationalcloud.co.uk) infrastructure. - Architect large scale Private and Hybrid Clouds based on the Microsoft Cloud/Datacentre suite for both On & Off Premises managed solutions. - To technically qualify all Microsoft Private Cloud deliverables in both pre & post sales. - Orchestrate Hyper-V, VMware, NetApp and Cisco UCS with System Centre Orchestrator. - Own & develop Microsoft best practice policies and procedures. - To provide technical governance for cloud transformation programmes. - Chair technical design workshops between clients and key stakeholders within ANS. - Lead the Microsoft proposition within the flexpod stack. - Develop other Microsoft consultants to meet the goals of ANS & the System Centre offering. - Technical alliance contact between ANS Group and Microsoft. Some key deliveries have included: - A 12000 User, multiple forest SCCM implementation for a large NHS Trust. - A 4000 User SCCM implementation with a Windows 7 build for a global law firm. - A 1200 user SCCM, SCSM & SCOM implementation for a Council in the North of England. - A 3500 SMS 2003 to SCCM 2007 R3 upgrade with a Windows 7 build for an NHS Trust. - A 1200 device SCOM deployment for an NHS Trust in the South of the UK.
