Paulo is one of the best Validation Engineers I ever met. His understanding of DC/DC converters is exceptional. He identifies a design weaknesses if there is any. If Paulo does not find anything, the circuit is ok for sure. It's great to work with Paulo.

Need someone that delivers THE out-of-the-box IDEAS you need to solve an apparently impossible technological problem and calmly drive your project a leap forward? Then Paulo is the right person to count with in your team! Paulo has the eye of a hawk for finding revolutionary possibilities of doing things differently and efficiently. His unquestionable loyalty to the team is a must-feel experience. I was very glad to have him on my "ECU2010" team to get the job done for Bosch in a 3-year project that ended with 100% success, and would readmit him without even blinking the eye! This guy does not need a cooler to run cool: his ideas are readily absorbed by the project as a breeze of fresh air when pitfalls arrived.

Proemion GmbH - Software and hardware development for telematics devices automated tests Svep Design Center AB: - PCB designer for high reliability, high flux LEDs traffic signaling solution Texas Instruments Deutschland GmbH: - Responsible for designing, developing and implementing accurate methods of measuring DC/DC converter performance. - Troubleshooting systems, equipment and DC/DC converter issues. - Design test fixtures and integrate available equipment enabling full characterization of devices to their specifications. Microchip Technology Germany II GmbH & Co. KG (former Ident Technology): - Design, development, debugging and testing for sensor technologies, focused in analog electronics. - Analog integrated electronics characterization (operating range, power consumption, dynamic response, frequency response, noise, among others) - D/A converter characterization (INL, DNL, noise) - Code optimization for speed and for size for 68HC05 micro-processors (integer division) - Micro-controller/ASIC tests and firmware development (ARC core based) - Custom built test automation (automatic ADC characterization) - HTOL/LTOL and Flash retention testing - Bootloader development - Custom floating point libraries development (size optimizations) The position above mentioned requires that I work closely with the ASIC development teams, either in the analog or digital domains, and develop firmware/test methodologies in order to validate new solutions for revolutionary sensor technologies. - Firmware development in C for Linux embedded systems; - GSM/CDMA/UMTS traffic optimization; - Fixed line DCME optimization; - Traffic aggregation in ATM, IP/ML-PPP and Carrier Ethernet; - Signal integrity verification and debugging - Shell script tool writing for distributed data collection and housekeeping tasks In this position I had as main responsibility the development of new requisites and debugging support of implemented functionalities in telecommunication’s Radio Access Network optimization equipments. The main challenges of this position is the implementation of new requisites in order to implement new and customer oriented functionalities for RAN equipments, while still reducing development time cycles. Reducing OPEX is of paramount importance for mobile network operators, and that was what we delivered. With the capability of reducing the overall bandwidth by a factor of 2:1 in GSM networks, or even 18:1 in fixed line networks (DCME), the network operators could easily see an investment turnaround of 6 to 12 months typically. Among our costumers we could find PTC (PT), VIVO (BR), Oi (BR) and Movicel (AO) Show less

      - NET C# device driver interface and GUI implementation - Gauges - Bar-graphs - Valve intake-outlet - Cylinder view (crankshaft, piston and valve visualization) - Datalog viewer with incremental data rendering - USB2.0 High-Speed IP Core development - High speed capable (>40MBps IN/OUT speed) - 4 endpoints - 2KB message buffering per endpoint reduces message fragmentation - Windows device driver interface with C# applications enables high level abstraction of implementation - High speed MMCplus IP Core development - High speed MMC bus interface (50+ MHz) - Integrated CRC generation and verification by dedicated HW - Sector shadow buffering reduced R/W operations - 2.4GHz ISM band wireless communications - Startup, configuration and operation handling - Packet buffering and handling - Scalable solution up to 85 devices in the ISM band without channel overlapping - 2Mbps Full-duplex bitrate - VHDL hardware description and implementation in Xilinx FPGAs (Spartan3E series); - Microblaze embedded microprocessor solution development; - ORCAD electronic description and PCB layout. During this time a prototype ECU was developed and a test scenario using electronic fuel injection and throttle control was created. A single cylinder gasoline engine was controlled using the developed solution, allowing on-the-fly and with the engine running prototyping, control function parameter changes and even algorithm changes. A great deal of knowledge was obtained during this project either from specific technologies or tools, such as XILINX ISE, XILINX Chipscope, Cypress USB transceivers, Windows device drivers and ultimately Windows GUI development and device driver interface using .NET C#.
