I had the pleasure of meeting Paulo through a job interview. Right there, I realized that I wanted to be part of the project, due to the energy he puts in and the ability to have a disruptive vision and for believing on my work. Paulo Torcato is a determined person committed to his goals while taking full advantage of all the fun opportunities that academic life provides. During his academic career, which he attended at post-work schedule, he reconciled his academic obligations, with professional projects that he went on developing, with extracurricular academic activities in which he became involved and for which he was responsible, demonstrating his capacity to develop several projects simultaneously. As a student, Paulo Torcato revealed qualities such as commitment, seriousness and interest in all the projects in which he has been involved, both in individual and in group assignments, revealing excellent interaction skills and interpersonal communication abilities. He took part in an international project at Porto Design Factory, which is an Portuguese accelerator unit of Porto Polytechnic to develop design-based business ideas and to support promising startups. The multicultural, multinational and multifunctional environment and the direct interaction with a corporate client and the obligations to comply with the organizational demands, was challenging but successful as the project came to a conclusion. I can also testify that, in personal terms, Paulo Torcato was always able to reconciled his academic obligations, with professional projects that he went on developing, as well as extracurricular academic activities in which he became involved and for which he was responsible, demonstrating his capacity to develop several projects simultaneously. Furthermore, he has always shown ability to listen to criticism and learn from the situation, possessing high levels of motivation, good education, seriousness and integrity.
