From junior analyst to senior project engineer, my time in the Engineering and Operations group of WavEC has surely widened my professional boundaries. Time during which I have contributed to more than 25 EU-funded projects and consultancy services. Scope of work included: • Project design and management for top-tier clients (e.g REN, CorPower, Carbon Trust). • Contributed to due diligence and feasibility studies in the scope of offshore logistics (Installation and O&M) and electrical infrastructure for both fixed and floating offshore wind, floating solar, and microgrid solutions. • Responsible for the development and implementation of research tools, specifically related to the installation and O&M of offshore renewable energy parks and assessment of the Electromagnetic Fields emitted by subsea power cables. • Responsible for obtaining the grid connection permits of two wave energy projects in Portugal, Waveroller’s - FOAK and CorPower’s - HiWave5. • Coordinated the development and inputs to the Power Performance Assessment of a Wave Energy farm in Portugal (HiWave5), following relevant standards, as required for later certification. • Responsible for the technical development of an innovative energy harvesting technology for subsea power cables, which raised 50k€ for a market study and 125k€ for technology development. • Participated in the design and execution of multiple sensorization and data acquisition solutions for a range of projects: from laboratory tests of live subsea power cables to tank testing of small-scale wave energy devices and a full-scale offshore wind turbine. • Part of the Operation and Maintenance team of a full-scale Wave Energy Device, the Pico Plant. • Main operator of an observation class ROV, having participated in several offshore monitoring campaigns supporting environmental impact studies.
