Bachelor Thesis: Comparison of Nanopore and Illumina based DNA methylation rate detection. As yet, methylation detection of nanopore sequencing (e.g. by the MinION sequencer) does not match the precision of whole genome bisulfite sequencing offered by the next-generation sequencing platform Illumina. The aim was to provide a better understanding of the occurrences and causes of erroneous methylation detection by the MinION, and to examine whether the methylation read-out can be improved by computational means.
