I worked as a consultant DevOps engineer for a large telecoms client in a platform engineering capacity, delivering a network automation platform running primarily on AWS. The platform consisted of a suite of microservices (Java/Python/Go) running on Kubernetes. My responsibilities included: - Developing and documenting internal tooling, including a range of container images, (Python/Boto3/Docker/Bash) used to automate tasks within our deployment workflow - Developing, maintaining, and debugging CI/CD pipelines (Spinnaker/Jenkins/Bash/Python) which we used to deliver rolling upgrades and updates to our customer environments - Integration of a diverse cross-section of system components across the stack in a complex SDN environment, with special attention given to security concerns (IAM/*LB/R53/EC2/CF/EKS) - Collaborating with microservice engineering teams on development of network automation and data processing services and associated protocols and tools, and cross-team incident resolution and triage - Documenting and developing processes relating to all aspects of our team's duties, providing visibility to other stakeholders within the project and facilitating horizontal knowledge transfer within the team and the wider org (Jira/Confluence) - Identification, tracking, and triage of issues which arose within our live environments and working with other teams to resolve these issues on a timely basis - Operation, provisioning, maintenance, and monitoring of infrastructure (RHEL7/OpenBSD/Ubuntu) for our deployment environments (S3/ECR/Prometheus/Grafana) - Participating in maintenance of our internal code libraries and associated code review duties (Git/Gerrit) Show less

I worked as a DevOps engineer within a fintech division of a financial services organization partnered with a Fortune 500 US client, largely on deployment, maintenance and monitoring of colocated and on-premise applications and associated systems and pipelines.
