There are currently 534,000 people in Wales who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as 240,000 people living with Tinnitus. This figure equals the population of both Swansea, Cardiff and Rhondda Cynon Taff combined. We, at Action on Hearing Loss Cymru more than ever, need your help to support people in every community in Wales. All funds raised in Wales – stays in Wales, and will have a positive impact on local people living with hearing loss. Our "Hear to Help" and Hear to Meet" services in local communities support people with hearing loss, with support, information, hearing aid repair and instruction. All these services allow trained volunteers to help with hearing aid maintenance and provide advice on caring for your aid, as well as support available on equipment that could make an enormous difference to your life. This service is also available for people in their homes, when needed. So, no matter where you live our volunteers can get to you. This service is also supported by local Health Board Audiology Departments We all know someone who is living with a level of hearing loss, whether its mild, moderate, several or total. This can affect everyone, and we are not only fundraising to improve local services and support but also campaigning in Wales to guarantee equal access to employment, health, entertainment and other essential services. Thanks to the support of our volunteers and donors we are the largest hearing loss charity in Wales. We invest more than £1.5million into research each year and our biomedical team are working to find a cure for hearing loss within a generation. Show less
