      Initially fulfilled the role of Technician, progressing to Project Engineer on completion of my HNC. Responsibilities and achievements during this time include:Worked as part of a team which built and repaired studios and broadcast equipment for radio partners across the globe and installed them onsite.Installing studios involved travel to India, Pakistan, Cyprus, and various locations in Africa, gaining a strong understanding of how to work effectively in remote, challenging environments and find solutions to issues presented on site.Support and Development of in-house studios and systems included electronic design, board layout and construction. I also provided general engineering and practical support including electrical and PAT testing.Support to in house radio production teams.Audio editing, both content and processing for broadcast.Checking of programmes for broadcast for technical quality, rectifying any issues. As technology progressed within broadcasting, we adapted to embrace innovation and worked on designing and creating a ‘Suitcase Studio’. This involved building an entire studio that could be fitted inside a suitcase and transported easily to global destinations for immediate use; the creation and production of which involved:-Systems design, building the suitcase studio from the ground up. -Board design and layout for in house designed and built mixer, speakers and power management - I had prime responsibility for the power supply, and interconnections. -Mechanical engineering to ensure it fitted in the suitcase, and met key ergonomic, weight and functionality goals.-Evaluation and testing of the product ensuring the studio could withstand the perils inherent with global travel and delivery, weight restrictions and extreme weather conditions Overall, approximately 30 suitcase studios were constructed and successfully delivered to remote global locations for FM radio transmission and emergency response radio.
