In this role I dealt with a range of employee relations issues including discipline, performance and absence management, redundancies & organisational change. I delivered corporate induction, conducted HR audits and advised managers on best practice. I also assisted with the recruitment function and advised on payroll issues. I worked closely with the Occupational Health Provider to manage employee wellness programmes and address any medical issues that may impact on employees and their work. In addition, I built good relationships with other external stakeholders, e.g. the Legal Team.I was involved in the revision and negotiation of HR policies with trade unions and the implementation thereof. I played an active part in the strategic planning of the HR function.I contributed to the design of training & mentoring programmes for managers to ensure they were fully conversant with HR policies & procedures with specific emphasis on discipline, sickness absence, performance and capability and was responsible for delivering these programmes. As HR partner to the London Metro area I helped reduce sickness levels from 10 days per employee down to 8.30 days per employee for the financial year 2010/ 2011 and I supported the business by attending, collating and giving evidence at Employment Tribunals with an 87% success rate.
