  Boarding on a warship as an officer of the watch and a duty officer. I successfully obtained the qualifications to occupy my duties autonomously. My services were rewarded with a letter of congratulations and the bronze medal of the national defense. THE OFFICER OF THE WATCH At sea, the officer of the watch represents the captain, he is responsible for: - Navigation taking into account requirements (traffic, maritime operations, commander's instructions, etc.); - Nautical safety; - The ship manoeuvring; - The management of the team on the navigating bridge; He is responsible to the commander for the success of the mission and the overall running of the ship. THE DUTY OFFICER While the ship is docked, in call or at the military port of Toulon, the duty officer represents the commander: - He supervises the service teams to ensure the proper management of the ship; - He directs security (fire, flooding) or protection (aggressions, crowds, intrusion) interventions; - This is the main contact with external authorities or services. He is the last decision-maker before the captain for the duration of his duty. MY TWO MISSIONS - Sophia/Frontex Mission: mission to fight illegal immigration and trafficking (weapons, oil, human beings) in the Mediterranean Sea, migrants rescue; - Corymbe mission: mission to protect French national interests in the Gulf of Guinea: fight against piracy, dissuasive patrols, evacuation of French citizens, training of local navies. TRANSVERSE MISSIONS - Writing newsletter for families, press articles; - Support of logistics tasks in stopovers; - In charge of the organic management of the unit, development of indicators to optimize its organization.
