But with time and much effort, I transformed the program into one of success with growing numbers of kids wanting to play and with numerous winning seasons. -Over the course of 8 years, I have developed three of the six 1,000 point scorers in school history which spans close to 35 years.

Vandalia, Illinois My years as an Instructor for the Regional Office of Education were both very challenging and rewarding. While there, I planned lessons to effectively utilize time in multi-level classes and taught General Science, General Science II, Math, Geography and History. While there, I planned lessons to effectively utilize time in multi-level classes and taught General Science, General Science II, Math, Geography and History. When dealing with at-risk youth, I learned it was important that I effectively communicate classroom expectations with regard to behavior and attitude to reduce the chance of conflict in the classroom. As an instructor of at-risk youth, I found it necessary and gratifying to promote and elevate their self-esteem, boost their self-confidence, teach them life-skills and offer them guidance. In addition to instruction, I exposed students to career fairs and motivational speakers. I assisted students in personalized career/college preparation and planning. I introduced computers and the internet to teach innovative research. Another classroom duty was to develop and implement curriculum guides which reinforced I.S.B.E. learning standards. To actively get the students involved in their community, I helped arrange and supervise student volunteer work with Habitat for Humanity. I performed various duties and responsibilities as the Dean of Students for the Alternative Education Program. I was held accountable for maintaining the daily functions of four Alternative Education programs. I also managed faculty and support staff, created individualized education plans for students, and developed a master schedule for all of the programs. Show less
