I joined Whitehouse as a Site Agent in 2006 completing a wide range of schemes of a value of up to £4.2M. January 2012 to October 2014 saw me move into our Specialist Works Team as Production Manager overseeing our property level flood mitigation works. October 2014 - July 2015 proved interesting with time spent supporting the Estimating team completing tender programmes & methodologies. As a result of one large bid proving successful I, for my sins, was sent out to manage the £2.4M public realm works in Hanley City Centre. On my return to the Estimating department at the end of July 2015 I continued my previous role & due to a retirement forming an opening I began my Estimating journey. Here I am 6 years in and wondering how a bloke with the surname SWINDELL can end up in a commercial role. I am actually enjoying the challenge as it put into practice all the things I've learned along the way. Show less

Previous roles included Site Engineer to Senior Engineer and Planning Engineer @ Associated Asphalt based at Henley-on-Thames. Moving North I started my career as a Site Agent. Baptism of fire is the best way to put it but I suppose the best way to learn fast.
