In my recent role as Head of Bid Development at The Prince’s Trust, I developed and led a new team to manage high impact funding opportunities, across public, trust & foundation, major donor and corporate funding streams. During this time, I successfully managed a number of ambitious projects for The Trust, including the design and delivery of a new £3m headquarters in Scotland and a £14m European Social Investment Funds bidding round - helping support The Trust achieve secure the highest income performance in its history.The role also involved: • Leading a high-performing fundraising team who provide specialist bid writing and research support to fundraising teams across the UK, including corporates, trusts & foundations, major donors and events • Project management leadership of key, high impact, or significantly large or complex Trust fundraising opportunities (e.g. >£500k) • Project management of the 2014-2020 European Social Investment Funds application writing, the most ambitious funding project The Trust has ever embarked on• Development of an ambitious, analysis-driven three year strategy for the Bid Development department to become a centre of excellence for fundraising support and increase income performance• Design and delivery of a Trust-wide bid development process, which ensures The Trust target funding which is deliverable, financially viable and aligned with strategic aims• Create and embed an analysis and reporting framework which ensures The Trust are learning from each funding opportunity, driving continuous improvement, and securing the highest return on investment• Build and champion an ‘information hub’ for fundraising, where fundraisers are able to draw on first-class resources and products for the development of strong bids and proposals• Monitor all political developments which have a direct impact on fundraising and ensure timely circulation to colleagues Show less
