I began working at Santé Labs as a Lab Technician, and after a six-month period, I was promoted to the position of Associate Scientist. I assist in the development of company products by providing accurate and timely data on our experimental and large-scale formulations. This includes the preparation of samples for testing by HPLC through our ISO certified method. Additionally, I screen supplements, and their precursors for concentrations of relevant compounds. In collaboration with my colleagues, I have developed new methods and improved our screening capabilities. Show less

Formulated large-scale buffers used in the nucleic acid extraction process in volume batches up to 750 liters. Performed in-process and final quality control tests to ensure the product fulfilled company standards. Collaborated with co-workers and demonstrated strong documentation skills needed for successful delivery of formulations to the Filling Department, where products were packaged and shipped to buyers. Assisted Dr. Shane Yost with his Computation Chemistry research on an accurate and efficient density functional theory (DFT) calculation method (NOCI-MP2). This involved running simulations of electronic interaction between charged and neutral molecular monomers. Transferred simulated molecular arrangements to a computer cluster, which solved electron couplings using this method. Subsequently compared the output with research that utilized other DFT methods. In my last semester at Texas State University, I assisted Dr. Ben Martin in achieving a cost-effective setup for the synthesis of pure tungsten sulfide. This involved testing both the subtle changes of the method and its effect on product purity. Prepared samples to be tested by cleaning tungsten sulfide powder, applying it to a wafer to be annealed by a laser, in order to determine the x-ray diffraction pattern. Show less
