I undertake clinical medication reviews to proactively manage patients with complex polypharmacy, especially for older people and those with multiple co-morbidities. I provide support for medicines and chronic disease management on behalf of the GP practices/PCN and I spend a proportion of my time working in the Extended Access Service, offering telephone and face to face consultations.

I have during my The second category concerns management consulting which includes change leadership and operations management. The last eight years of my professional career have been spent in a dynamic change management environment, contributing to the implementation of business transformation, including fundamental changes to business processes, business standardisation, design and implementation of procedures, team leadership and direction through coaching and motivation. Pharmacy Assistant

Jun 2020 - Aug 2020
I operated as a part-time pharmacy assistant while I took my PEBC entrance exam. Here, I undertook pharmacy assistant duties. My biggest impact was with customer service delivery and developing their balance scorecard in this area. Whilst it was an interim role, I have agreed with both the Pharmacy Manager and the owner, to volunteer whilst I complete my pharmacist registration here in Canada. I was hired as part of the future planning for the pharmacy business as the CEO and business development manager identified that I could bring a lot of skill and experience to their business and help guide them through a period of change and an improvement to procedures. I was to successfully register as a Canadian Pharmacist and Heart Pharmacy employed me to fulfil the pre-license requirements and for training. Unfortunately due to the COVID19 pandemic, the business could not support my training role and was laid off. Duties included, patient contact including home visits, prescription processing and dispensing and insurance adjudications. I managed a number of projects such as, increasing the uptake of home delivery supervised medicine consumption after a medication review is conducted. I led on the pharmacies COVID patient-contact service, ensuring patients had sufficient medications at home and supplying additional medicines to the patients should they be due. I made weekly reports to the CEO, including data on uptake and patient feedback. I was required to be analytical in my approach and identifying which patients to contact in a time-bound way ultimately leading to an improvement of operational functionality.Patient Contact including home visits.Prescription processing and dispensing.Insurance adjudications.OTC recommendations.

Feb 2019 - Aug 2019
The business did not have a branch manager for a year before I was recruited. There were significant challenges including poor process flow, poor team performance, lack of morale and poor patient experience. I was tasked to turn the business around as well as make cost efficiencies. The prescription item count when I started was 10,000items/ month as the sole pharmacist. When I left the business the item count was up to 11,500items/month. I left the business as my family and I were immigrating to Canada. Duties included, community pharmacy manager and clinical lead for the branch. Leading and developing the pharmacy team of 10. Responsible for all KPI measures. Prescription item growth. I feel my biggest achievement in the branch was bringing about organisation, team understanding their roles and the part they play within the team along with implementing a new prescription filing system which took many weeks to roll-out as we were so busy and going through change.Community Pharmacy Manager and clinical lead for the branch.Information and clinical governance lead for the branch.Leading and developing the pharmacy business.Leading and developing the pharmacy team of 10.Responsible for all KPI measures.Prescription item growth.

I moved to a new challenge managing a Paydens Pharmacy branch. The business did not have a pharmacy manager for nearly 18months before I was recruited and there were significant HR difficulties and required a strong problem-solving ability. I needed to train my team to deliver all pharmacy services and the upgrading of the pharmacy environment. We became a level2 healthy living pharmacy and delivered all enhanced services including NHS health checks, quit smoking and Champix PGD services as well as sexual health services. The prescription item count when I started was 5,000items/month as the sole pharmacist. When I left the business the item count was up to 6,400items/month. I conducted various interviews and produced many reports on behaviour, attitude and competence whilst in this role, with a large emphasis on performance management. I left the business due to a lack of HR support during the transformation programme. Duties included:Community Pharmacy Manager and clinical lead for the branch.Information and clinical governance lead for the branch.Leading and developing the pharmacy business.Leading and developing the pharmacy team of 9.Responsible for all KPI measures.Prescription item growth.

Superintendent Pharmacist and Pharmacy Manager
-
Jan 2014 - Feb 2018
Asked to join the GP surgery by the Director, who was a GP. I took on the role knowing it would be challenging as there were no operating procedures or team members and I was the sole employee. In effect, it was a new business which I needed to grow from nothing which was an exciting prospect. As the Superintendent, I was accountable for all legal aspects of the business, the development of operating procedures as well as business development. We successfully won three awards of which one was national. We were also finalists in the C&D awards in three categories. The prescription item count when I started was 250items/month as the sole pharmacist. When I left the business the item count was up to 6,500items/month. I left the business as I wanted a new challenge. Duties included community pharmacy manager and clinical lead for the branch. Information and clinical governance lead for the branch. Clinical trials lead for the branch. Leading and developing the pharmacy business. Leading and developing the pharmacy team of 6 plus one regular locum pharmacist. Leading pre-registration pharmacist training and development. Responsible for all KPI measures. Prescription item growth. I bridged Pharmacy practice with GP office practice. I really developed the skills in policy and procedure writing here in this role as when I arrived, there were none in place. it was an exciting prospect, to write the policies from scratch, but also a daunting one as I needed to perform this solely. I was working part time (along with my main role as a practicing pharmacist at Buxted Pharmacy), with the NIHR to improve access to clinical trials in community pharmacy, to increase the rates of pharmacy uptake of clinical trials as well as support those pharmacies undertaking clinical trials through effective deployment, contract initiation, clinical governance and clinical compliance. I was selected to be the lead in Sussex, Kent and Surrey as I was the only pharmacist in the region performing clinical trials, delivering this important clinical service to my community and showcasing what community pharmacists are able and capable to do.I performed 5 clinical trials whilst working at Buxted Pharmacy ranging from clinical application of therapies in dermatology, allergic rhinitis with follow-up consultations, to operating surveys about the uptake of Mirena IUDs.
