I had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of Paul Pélaprat during the autumn of 2013 when the cargo vessel, El Niño, was in the Faroe Islands being repaired and prepared for commercial operation after being bought by the current owners. Paul was involved in the project from the early stages. Among other things, he made repairs in the engine room, made maintenance plans and took part in updating the vessel’s ISM system. He took a lot of responsibility at a time when there were only a few crew members to do the work. In the later stages, when the vessel was fully crewed, he continued his tasks as second engineer without incidents. I have come to know Paul as a dedicated worker, a skilled engineer, and a very pleasant person. I am certain that Paul will be a positive addition to any work place and employers should not hesitate to employ him.
