Paul was my Line Manager whilst working for the Security team at the Student's Union, Royal Holloway. Paul has been excellent during his time at the Student's Union. As a manager of a diverse student workforce, he has maintained the highest possible standards through training, and his hands-on management approach. A man that leads by example, Paul is able to lead a team in difficult situations. His adaptability makes him personable, and a manager that is always able to assist staff in any way he can. His experience in sourcing acts and events is clear to see, bringing high-calibre acts to a University with a very limited budget. A multi-talented man with a keen eye for the customer, Paul has always put his job, and colleagues before himself. It has been a pleasure working with Paul and would not hesitate to do so again in the future.

Responsible for planning and organising the mainstream events and day to day running of a 1200 capacity for day and night trade services, my role involves ensuring marketing compliance with any membership scheme (e.g. KPP) and legislative requirements or recognised best practice (Sky, BBN, Licensing). Running the very successful and diverse events programme, I am responsible for sourcing and booking acts and ensuring their hospitality needs are met. Monitoring and benchmarking pub and club competitors, I am responsible for developing the entertainment provision within the SU. Through creating and monitoring budgets and accounts I ensure that all targets are met. I also lead on the training and development of over 150 student staff through external and internal training programmes. Show less

A diverse role, I managed the day to day running of thirteen community centres, ensuring effective communication between all levels. Managing a team of nine, the role involved creating activity programmes, managing the bookings and marketing the centre to the local community.
