During my time on the platform I gained exposure to newer types of equipment I had little previous experience with, due to the recent Distributed Control System and associated input and output devices upgrade.   I enrolled on the OPITO Modern Apprenticeship Scheme in 2008 and attended Jewel and Esk College where I attained a number of qualifications related to the Oil and Gas industry. On completion of the two years onshore training, I began working on the Fulmar Alpha platform alongside Wood Group PSN and Talisman Energy. After spending two years offshore, I completed my apprenticeship and gained an NVQ Level 3 in "Proess Engineering Maintenance - Instrument and Control".
