  • Develops and administers performance-based dance curricula in order to prepare students for acceptance into college conservatory dance programs• Plans and administers the instructional program in Dance grades 6 - 12• Oversees the recruitment, auditioning and retention of students • Organizes and leads semester-end evaluations for MPSA Dance Certificate students as well as other high school dance students.• Creates and administers comprehensive performance schedule and all aspects of production related to 2 major MPSA Dance Concerts per year• Organizes and implements off campus dance events, including but not limited to the National High School Dance Festival • Participates in the planning and review of the Dance budget, approve purchasing requests and planning general and capital spending for Dance program needs• Manages Dance budget • Advances dance faculty-hiring suggestions to upper level administration• Supervises and evaluates personnel assigned to the dance program• Manages all dance program activities including articulation with all other areas of MPI• Attends MPSA program head meetings and reports activities to the dance faculty• Attends MPSA departmental meetings and reports activities to absent faculty• Attends MPI Faculty meetings and reports activities to absent faculty• Ensures compliance with academic requirements of standards of national accreditation agencies• Works with other members of the administration on issues relating to facility development, articulation with community arts organizations, program and financial development activities and promotional and print material development• Assists in developing and facilitating fund-raising activities on behalf of the Dance program and MPSA in cooperation with MPI Advancement Office• Works closely with MPI Elementary and MPI Middle School on all matters that will provide an optimal dance learning experience• Performs related duties as required.
