      SENOKO ENERGY PTE LTD (SEPL) SEPL was privatised in 2008 and was purchased for almost SGD $4B by a consortium comprising Engie, Marubeni Corporation, Kansai Electric Company, Kyushu Electric Company and the Japanese Bank for International Co-operation. SEPL is a vertically integrated utility with the largest amount of installed capacity (3,300MW) in Singapore and a circa 20% share of the contestable electricity market. The business also provides tank (oil) leasing services. Being a major electricity generator and retailer it is also one of the largest purchases of natural gas in Singapore, sourcing this fuel via LNG cargoes and piped gas from Malaysia and Indonesia. Appointed during a time of market change to reposition the business for market liberalisation while driving the immediate extension of vested contracts critical to revenue delivery. This role also was responsible for leading the management of a significant debt burden refinancing and performance improvement to build a platform for sustainable and profitable growth for Singapore’s largest vertically integrated electricity generator. As a member of the Engie APAC Leadership team and a number of peak bodies, I was responsible for representing Engie’s interests in a Consortium structure. - Exceeded GM delivery despite a major market challenge to vested contract revenue, creating and leading a consortium in advocating to the EMA to ensure continued organisational and sector-level viability; - Realigned the organisation’s cost base, managed legacy debt and oversaw the deferral of 10% of gas supply obligations to mitigate reduced electricity generation during period of market oversupply.
