My role of being a Set Production Assistant was to be of assistance to the Set Team, from simple work such as measuring plywood to building floorboards. Eventually these Set Items will then be moved into the actual acting space. We had two months to build everything from scratch Eg; Measuring of plywood for floorboards, to assembling wood planks that are required by the Set Designer. As a Lighting Designer, Starting off by reading the Script, after which I will get a feel of the show. I had to come up with some paperwork, For example Lighting Plan by using AutoCAD(Computer-Aided Design) and Magic Sheets which is basically a piece of document which shows where each individual Lighting Fixture is, I work closely with the Director and Set Designer because we would have to come up with the different shades of Lighting State and the kind of Color Temparature needed for that particular scene, I am also In-Charge of Light-Focussing, which is tilting/panning to a certain angle which will then light up a certain space OR facial light for an actor/actress

I was given the opportunity to be overseas for my Internship when I was a Student at College Central(Performance Production) In Year2. I was exposed to their Culture and how the Musical Theatre works for them, I was able to absorbed most of the practical experiences but unfortunately not much theory wise as they are mostly Year 3 Students. I was basically a Production Assistant during their Production Week and attended most of their rehearsals and theory classes to get some exposure of how their curriculum works

The company specializes in doing performances during the Chinese Hungry Ghost Festival as It was the roots of how the company grew, I was part of the setting up and tearing down of the events and occasionally I was assigned to be the Lighting/Video Operator for certain shows, I was exposed to a different environment while working with them because It was something out of my comfort zone and not to mention the long hours as these Festivals usually end close to mid-night.
