Provided academic support to learners across the college in a variety of groups, for example, Supported Learning, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Carpentry, Multi-Trades Construction, Catering, Motor Vehicle, Business Studies, Public Services, ICT, and GCSE English and Maths. I acted as a reader and scribe in GCSE English and Maths examinations for students with physical disabilities and also provided personal care when required. My transferable ICT, English and Maths skills enabled me to guide, motivate and develop learners' confidence to complete course assignments both during whole class support, and also 1:1 assignment support providing guidance on own work improvement using targeted questioning, guiding the student which areas of work may require further research and target setting. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I also engaged with students remotely, using Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Google Classroom. Duties included arranging cover for staff sickness across the whole Learning Mentor Team, conducting staff Learning Walks, Return to Work Interviews, and staff Personal Development Reviews. Scrutinised the monthly timesheet report and authorised hours worked by my staff for payroll purposes. Conducted interviews with students living with learning differences to ascertain what support could be put in place to meet their learning needs whilst they study at Walsall College. Provided an import service to UK customers importing a wide range of products by oceanfreight by full load containers or via part-load services from all over the world. Shipments were managed via overseas partners from supplier collection to through ocean transit and final delivery to the UK customer's delivery point as per their deadline dates. Customers were kept updated of shipment progress by telephone and using Work-in-Progress Spreadsheets. Consignments were entered to Customs using Impatex computer software. Use of the Customs FAS Account enabled importers without deferment accounts have the duty and VAT calculated, which I then had to collect along with other import charges, prior to delivery whilst avoiding storage charges. Using our transportation partners, deliveries were arranged to customers according to their requirements. Input errors were corrected by writing to the appropriate Customs Post Clearance Office.
