I first met Paul in 2020 while I was presenting a scheme design to the client for Alterations, Enlargement and Fit-out of an existing Off License. This was a very detailed scheme, with lots of structural alterations works to a mixed-use building which would continue to trade throughout the construction phase. Paul attended the initial presentation as a friend of our client, who had no construction background, to offer support and guidance. By the end of that presentation Paul had fully bought into the concept. Looking back, I believe Paul offered to help a friend and once the meeting was over that would be that; however, he became embedded with the project and offered to Project Manage Aspects of the works for the client. This is typical of Paul, when he gets involved with something he goes all out and lives and breaths a job ensuring that every detail of its delivery is considered. Paul showed total respect of the design and never tried to dilute it. The scheme was a complete success and is now considered one of the best Off Licenses in the Country. It was completed on time and within the budge, this would not have been possible without Pauls Project and Cost Management input. Shortly after this project was completed, I met ‘PK’ (In Modular World Paul is known as PK). He wanted to get us involved with an exciting new Modular Project, as outside consultants. Truly we didn’t know what lay ahead of us! PK became my modular mentor, and it was a Master Class with a steep learning curve to say the least. Despite PK’s expert knowledge, his vast experience, and the war wounds he gained along the way, he is always welcomed push back, he was open to disagreement and debate as long as its for the betterment of the project and the end users. PK is a Construction Professional with roots as a tradesman which gives him a unique perspective, knowledge, and experience. He is a fully engaged leader, who creates teams of Project Managers, Managers, Foremen, Consultants and Suppliers who work in an integrated manner. He always fully informed about every aspect of the numerous schemes he may have on at any one time and has every aspect planned meticulously. His mantra is ‘PLAN, PLAN, PLAN GO!’ PK is innovative in his use of technology and is always striving to improve processes and systems. I and my team at Blackbird Architecture Ltd are proud to work under PK’s leadership and can’t recommend him and Procon Modular enough! Eamonn Cushnahan MCIAT. C.Build E MCABE. BSc (Hons)
