Bio

Paul Holmes walks among the biggest names in PR, so why read a recommendation from me? I was merely a young staff writer for his magazine and newsletter at the turn of the century. Why do my words matter? They do because little people can have a truer insight to the character of big ones. And character is abundant in Paul. As Editor-in-Chief, his content suggestions were insightful, but most impressive is the way he presented the idea, and then left the door open for the writer, young or old, seasoned or fresh-eyed, to take the journey. Editorial meetings were a blast, not with laughter or time wasted, but in the way they expanded your mind through a dialogue of creative takes on trends and conceptualized new themes in the long lived industry of PR. His brain is fast and connective, producing angles like few others, but always relevant. Then, he'd give you these redwood seedling concepts and a pot of soil, and leave you alone. It was an incredible growth experience, as a professional and a human. I greatly enjoyed working for him and am happy to see he is still influencing the industry nearly 20 years later.
