Paul is a compassionate, committed, and creative educator whose passion for his work and genuine care for his students makes him undeniably the most influential educator I’ve had the pleasure of working with. I have known and been mentored by Paul for almost 10 years, and cannot imagine where I’d be without his mentorship. There are many qualities that set Paul apart. Chief among them are his sincere commitment to student learning, his support for recruiting and retaining a diverse group of students, and his warm and inviting nature. Whether it be in the classroom or in informal conversations, Paul has helped cultivate a culture of academic curiosity, student-centered thinking, and genuine care for the whole person with every title he has held. It is my incredible pleasure and privilege to know Paul, and I write this recommendation with the highest esteem.

True leaders empower, inspire, and ignite transformational change; Paul Hogan is one of them. Paul translates vision into reality, builds culture and character, enhances critical thinking skills, and invests into community with action and compassion. For twenty-four years, Paul has led thousands in civic engagement activities raising millions of dollars in critical funds that support the Children's Cancer Association (CCA). These funds have delivered Joy-based programs improving mental and emotional wellness of young patients across the nation. Paul is a luminary and respected leader. Possibly his greatest achievement is exposing generations of students, teachers and families to an array of values, experiences and ideas to inspire them to make the world a more just, kind and joyful place.

As Principal, it was my job to ensure that 1275 students & 100 staff thrive in a safe, innovative, Jesuit college-prep environment. With my team, I was responsible for seeing that Jesuit’s mission is lived out in a vibrant and authentic manner. I supervised 100 faculty and staff, with 10 direct reports. With an annual budget of $26 m & endowment of ~$100m, Jesuit has a reputation for excellence in all program areas, from academics to athletics, arts to activities, Campus Ministry and Community Service. I was responsible for maintaining and enhancing our excellence in all of these areas.I love our students, and I deeply respect and admire each member of our dynamic faculty. I see my role as partly managing the programs, but mostly managing and supporting the people.
