      As Shift Manager I was responsible for activities within all departments in Reclaim, including DPC and PRP to achieve the effective running of the Reclaim Department. Managing the shift to maintain good team morale was paramount. My role was to plan, provide and apportion work instructions evenly to maximise production. As Shift Manager I was expected to develop my own personal skills and capabilities as well as that of the teams through training in line with company policies. With regards to the actual role, below is an example of the responsibilities I held: Managing Health & Safety requirements in accordance to the Company’s ISO18001 policies, Conduct the relevant Health and Safety audits in line with the documented schedules. Manage the upkeep and condition of all PPE and ensure PPEwas worn at all times and personnel were working to departmental SWP’s.Investigate any accidents/near misses and take remedial actions as required. Assisting management with updating Safe Working Procedures. Manage employees behaviour, attitude and actions with regards to H&S ensuring employees worked to the current safe working procedures. Effectively manage all team members to maximise levels of production and quality. Manage/prepare and submit all departmental paperwork in a correct, accurate, legible manner. Responsible for organising and controlling the shift labour to meet the required production plan at the minimum applicable cost. Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges in production. Deputise for other Department Shift Managers when required. Assisting in the management of absence by reporting absence/poor timekeeping and completing Return to Work Interviews. Assist with the facilitation of new starter inductions and reviews. Undertake annual employee appraisals. Liaise with Projects Manager and employees at all levels to identify and assess training / schedules and development needs. Show less
