Swinburne's Centre for Design Innovation (CDI) provides access to a strong client-focused research capability that responds to increasing market and community demand for strategic and transformative design and development. It focuses on linking researchers with industries, governments, and communities to enable human scale, user-focused, design-led innovation. My role as RA (positioned in Design Anthropology) was to foster the opportunity for deep and effective design innovation research with various clients both in the private sector but most comprehensively with the government and community sector. The goal was to transform stubborn and complex social problems into valued design innovations that have governmental, commercial and humanitarian benefits.
