Organize and prioritize workflow and distribute work to the team to ensure service standards are maintained. Act as a point of appeal for Brokers and Policyholders using strong problem solving skills. Review Major Loss reports completed by Senior Underwriters. Prepare productivity/service reports for management on a weekly and monthly basis. Provide feedback on assigned Broker’s portfolio and results and prepare summary for management as required. Complete performance management activities for the team and draft individual team member Performance Reviews for review and approval by Management. Provide leadership, underwriting expertise and coaching for team members. Lead monthly team meetings; work with other team leaders to prepare agenda to ensure consistency within the department. Provide guidance and technical support to team members, review underwriting decisions and approve risks over Senior Underwriter’s limits of authority. Monitor underwriting execution and ensuring that underwriting standards are maintained and proper documentation is kept. Ensure that Corporate and underwriting procedures and guidelines are adhered too. Able to ‘back-up’ all positions within the team, as required. Underwrite ‘Referred’ New Business, Renewals, Endorsements, and Home Inspections from the team. Participate in recruitment for the Personal Insurance department. Travel to Brokers office to train and other relationship building activities as required. Represent the Company at insurance functions outside the office.
