    • Head of Humanities and Extended Leadership Team

I am currently the Director of Humanities and Social Sciences and due to our continued success; we have now been expanded as a faculty to include Social Sciences. As a faculty, we include History, Religious Education, Geography, PHSE, Citizenship, Sociology, Psychology, Business Studies and Health and Social Care. I also have several whole school responsibilities as I lead on PHSE, Citizenship. A bespoke training programme for recently qualified teacher has been created and delivered by myself and I mentor trainees. I am now on the extended leadership team for EBACC and Recently I completed the NPQSL with a desire to become an assistant head teacher, my focus was narrowing the gap between Pupil Premium and non-Pupil Premium. Over the past four years as Director of Humanities all subjects within the department have improved their student outcomes. The faculty’s Higher Performing Pupil’s strategy and Pupil Premium Strategy have been shared with OFSTED as examples of good practice. I have delivered whole school teaching and learning workshops on Do Nows, You Dos, Differentiation and numerous other areas and I am a part of the Teaching and Learning Working Group. One of my initiatives within Humanities is cumulative assessments at all key stages and the use of GCSE questions at KS3 to embed the skills and further improve GCSE results year on year. Show less
