I have been involved with various projects working with 3rd parties, as well as the uplift of out environment from vsphere 5,5 to 6.5, and now currently in the process of moving to Vsphere 7. Typically the Servers in our infrastructure are virtualized in Vsphere. This is around 400 in total, and will be anything from Windows Server 2008-2016 Domain controllers, web server (IIS), SQL and bespoke application servers for the NHS, as well as Linux Debian and Red Hat. Introducing and building new VSPhere VM Linux/Windows guests according to guidelines and specs set from 3rd party companies, ready to be used within the NHS, in the Essex region . Working with 3rd parties to carry out upgrades, as and when needed. Acting on triggered alerts and replacing failed disks and patching our DELL Unity SAN arrays, as well as looking after Cisco UCS B200 M3-M5 servers. Carrying out and completing various 2nd line escalations. Liaising with 2nd line engineers to ascertain the work carried out so far and gathering all relevant information before working on a plan and best course of action needed. Maintaining multiple SQL Database servers utilising Management Studio. Looking after Airwatch servers for mobile device management and providing access through content locker. BAU IT issues including the creation of some Powershell scripts to streamline and automate some of our processes.
