My main focus was to sell Ligasure and all other intra-operative energy based devices. I also sell capital equipment into theatres, predominantly diathermy machines. My customer base was surgeons, clinical directors, theatre managers, and procurement teams with the aim of maintaining and increasing the use of Covidien products in hospitals. I dealt daily with surgeons and theatre staff to support and advise end users on the correct and best use of the products. I have regular contact with clinical directors and procurement divisions to discuss upcoming tenders and possible savings that Covidien can provide. In Covidien’s FY12 I grew the business in my key accounts by 36% and my whole territory finished on 124%, overachieving by £198,000. This was an excellent achievement and substantial growth on a product which has an average price of £400 per instrument. I was responsible for organising and running training courses and masterclass immersion courses for the development of surgeons and theatre staff. Show less

I was responsible for selling all surgical urological products. This principally consisted of capital equipment such as camera stacks and endoscopic instruments. I also sold consumable equipment to compliment the capital equipment. My main aim was to manage and increase sales in big accounts in the North West region. This mainly involved selling to surgeons, procurement teams and medical engineering departments. The selling process was split between general sales and tender processes. My daily routine involved advising best practice and demonstrating new equipment to surgeons and theatre staff in a practical setting. I always provided on going customer support and training. I dramatically increased turnover in a competitor dominated territory and my main achievement was winning a complex tender over a one year process that was worth £500,000. Show less
